Watch Now

IMB missionaries in Sub-Saharan Africa have a goal to engage 55 unengaged, unreached people groups (UUPGs) with the gospel by the year 2025.

Among these groups, which are the largest unengaged and unreached in Sub-Saharan Africa, there are few or no Christians or churches. The gospel will not spread among the groups naturally – outside help is needed. The IMB is calling on churches in the United States and around the world to pray for, and eventually to help engage, these 55 people groups. We have been tasked with being advocates for one of these UUPGs - the Seba people of DRC.

The Seba, population 167,000, live in the southeastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Like the people groups surrounding them, they predominantly practice African traditional religion. It is difficult to pinpoint the exact location where the Seba live. Although Christian work is happening among other people groups in the general area, the IMB does not know if anyone is actively sharing the gospel among the Seba. Preliminary research indicates there are no Bible translations, gospel recordings or “JESUS” film in their language. Further research is needed to learn more about the Seba and their access to the gospel.

Take a look at the video to find out how you can pray for the Seba, and please consider becoming a prayer partner by filling out the form below.
